Lee County Public Library
The Board of Trustees of Lee County, South Carolina seeks a dynamic and service-orientated candidate to serve as Library Director for the Lee County Library System headquartered in Bishopville, SC. The Library Director is responsible for all operations of the library including daily management, personnel, finance, and services. Lee County offers a pleasant rural setting but is also less than an hour from Columbia, the state’s capital, and two hours from the coast. The system is a member of the SC LENDS (Evergreen ILS) consortium, a group of 20 public libraries and the State Library sharing resources throughout the State.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in Library Science from a Library School program accredited by the American Library Association and 2) three years professional-level public library experience.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE: 1) experience with budgeting and financial oversight, library technology, electronic resources and services, project management and strategic planning, 2) excellent leadership and communication skills, 3) ability to build relationships with community groups, employees, elected officials, private businesses, and non-profit organizations, 4) strong commitment to customer service, 5) and eligible for South Carolina Public Library Certification.
**The Board of Trustees will also consider MLIS applicants with other relevant library work experience.**
Salary range: $55,000 – 59,755 DOQ
